Vision
A sector the public can trust
Every home, food business and public building should be able to call a pest professional whose training, insurance and working methods have been independently checked.
About the Association
British Pest Control Association is a not-for-profit organisation acting for its members and for the pest management industry in the UK. Only organisations that prove their competence are admitted as servicing members.
Purpose
Pest management is easy to overlook until it fails. Inadequate control can damage health, reputation and the economy. The Association raises the standard of professionalism and helps the public choose a contractor with evidence behind the claim.
Codes of best practice set out the responsibilities members are expected to meet. The codes are reviewed by the servicing committee and updated when legislation changes. Because they are public, clients can see the standard before they appoint a company.

Mission
We speak for the industry, give members the tools to improve, and give clients a clear mark of competence. Membership is a standard, not a directory listing.
History
The Association grew so that pest control firms had a shared voice, shared training and a published idea of good practice rather than a patchwork of local habits.
BPCA is registered in England and Wales as company 1641661. It does not distribute profit to shareholders. Resources go back into standards, learning and member support.
The registered office is at 4a Mallard Way, Pride Park, Derby, Derbyshire, DE24 8GX, a base for membership, training, events and technical enquiries.
People
Day-to-day work is carried by a staff team covering membership, technical support, training, events, communications and individual recognition. Strategy and sector debate are shaped by a board and by volunteers who sit on committees and working groups.
Members can put themselves forward for committees, contribute to consultations, and help newer companies through the induction year. The Association is stronger when practitioners, not only staff, set the agenda.
The Association watches legislation that affects rodenticides, wildlife, food hygiene and professional qualifications. It publishes positions so members and clients can see how new rules change practical pest management, and it contributes evidence when poorly designed rules would put food safety or public health at risk.
BPCA works with training partners, insurers, standards bodies and organisations such as the Society of Food Hygiene and Technology. Partnerships extend CPD, events and the practical help members can offer their clients. Media and advertising enquiries for PPC and digital channels are handled from the Derby office.
