News and blog
Association news, pest alerts, PPC magazine and the events calendar, written for members and for anyone who specifies pest control.
British Pest Control Association has named the Society of Food Hygiene and Technology as the first strategic partner for PestAware Summit 2027. The summit is aimed at people who manage pest risk across food, facilities and the wider UK, and a hygiene partner at the start of the programme signals how closely pest control sits next to food safety.
Householders and businesses should look again for rats and mice as colder weather pushes them toward buildings. Early signs are cheaper to deal with than a settled infestation.
Rules that make professional rodent control harder can raise the risk to public health and to the food chain. The Association continues to argue for controls that are tough on risk and still workable on site.
PPC magazine
Professional Pest Controller is the Association’s magazine for people who do the job. Issue 123 is available to read online without charge. Members also use it as CPD reading alongside toolbox talks and short courses.
PestAware, the public-facing campaign, sits beside the magazine: one explains the profession to itself, the other explains it to clients.
Events
The Association hosts events, including free forums, so anyone interested in pest management can keep up, meet peers and practise skills. Past and future dates include local forums, PPC Live, webinars and the PestEx exhibition.
Wednesday, 14 October 2026
A local day of networking and hands-on training for pest professionals in and around Belfast.
Exhibition
PestEx is the pest management show: a floor of suppliers, technical talks and the conversations that do not fit in a webinar. Companies that want a stand can ask the events team about exhibiting.
