Qualification

Level 2 Award in Pest Management

The Association recommends that pest technicians qualify to at least the BPCA/RSPH Level 2 Award in Pest Management. It is the qualification most membership assessments expect, and it gives a shared language for biology, law, safety and practice.

You can study on a residential course, work through the material online in your own time, or book the exam if you already have the knowledge. An apprenticeship standard for pest control technicians, developed with the sector, is published for employers who want a formal work-based route.

Online learning

Study around shifts and call-outs, then sit the assessment when you are ready.

Bespoke and onboarding

Teams can book in-house delivery. New member companies also follow an onboarding programme during their first year.

BPM manual

The pest management manual remains a reference for technicians who want a single place to check method and biology.

Continuing professional development

BPCA Registered

The individual scheme that records a member employee’s commitment to ongoing development, separate from the company audit.

CRRU-UK-approved

Rodenticide stewardship expects proof of competence. Approved CPD helps technicians show they still meet that bar.

Master Technician

A further mark for experienced people whose record of learning and practice goes beyond the entry qualification.
